Over 100 floats participated in the Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade Saturday. A San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush, the parade entertained hundreds of thousands of people that came to watch it on the street or tuned in to KTVU Fox 2.

Each lunar new year, women from throughout the United States come to San Francisco to compete for prizes and scholarships in the annual Miss Chinatown USA Pageant. With support from Harris Casino, these young women got the chance to become good will ambassadors for the Chinese community.
