The AP's Sacramento bureau has tracked every vote change and addition made by the 80 lawmakers in the state Assembly during the 2012 session, more than 5,000 in all.
These are alterations made after a bill has passed or failed. The practice is a way for lawmakers to change their official record in a way that does not reflect how they acted on legislation when the vote counted, giving their constituents a misleading picture of their actions. The AP investigation focused on the Assembly. In the Senate the practice is limited to the two party leaders.
This spreadsheet lists the vote changes and additions by every member of the Assembly, with lawmakers listed alphabetically.
