Fox Sports has a scheduled its usual football double header for the first day of the year, but because of NFL rules, KTVU Fox Channel 2 will be unable to broadcast the second game.

Because the San Francisco 49ers are playing at home in a game that is being aired locally, competing stations are not allowed to show other NFL games in the same time slot. At 10 a.m., KTVU Fox 2 will be showing either the Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons contest or the Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers game.

Because of NFL regulations, NFL on Fox coverage will end prior to the broadcast of the 1 p.m. game (either Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings or Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles). KTVU and Fox Sport apologize for any inconvenience.
