SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' tells the story of Carole King and her rise to stardom.
The musical is playing at San Francisco's SHN.
Suzanne Grodner, who plays Carole's mother and Curt Bouril who plays songwriter Don Kershner 'the man with the golden ear' stopped by KTVU to talk about the musical.
They said the legendary Carole King stopped by to watch the musical when it was Boston. She was in disguise during the show in a wig and glasses.
Suzanne says King talked with the cast for about 45 minutes, "she was humble and it was wonderful to be in her presence."
Grodner is from Burlingame and went to San Francisco State. She says it's incredible to be performing at home.
The show opens Wednesday night and plays through September 18th. This is the last city the cast is visiting.
