BROOKLYN, N.Y. (KTVU) - It's official: Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and former Oakland Raider, Colton Underwood are an item.
The pair made their public debut as a couple on Monday, stepping out together on the red carpet for the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
There was much speculation about the two athletes becoming a couple after the 24-year-old tight end asked Raisman out on a double date in a social media video that went viral back in August.
Underwood invited the Olympic gold medalist to go out with him and fellow Raider Andrew East and his wife, Shawn Johnson who is a friend of Raisman and also an Olympic gymnast.
“Just want to congratulate you on all your success in the competitions and representing the U.S.A. over there. I know I’ve been following along. My roommates, my teammates, everybody here is super proud of you... You know, if you’re ever in San Jose and want to go on a double date with me and Andrew and Shawn, let me know," the football player said in the video.
He apparently made an impression.
On Monday, Raisman revealed to People that their first date was in Denver. "I was there for less than 12 hours, he was flying in for just a few days," Raisman said. "It just ended up working perfectly."
The 22-year-old gymnast said that the couple had been keeping their relationship "quiet for a while."
By all accounts, it appears things are going pretty well. Raisman has reportedly met Underwood's family and will be seeing them again for the holidays.
The couple was seen looking pretty cozy together during Monday night's ceremony.
