Experience Fireworks By The Bay

Posted: 4:36 pm PDT June 29, 2009Updated: 11:49 am PDT July 4, 2009

San Francisco celebrates the Fourth of July with its annual all-day party at the City's famed waterfront. Families from all over the Bay Area descend on Fisherman's Wharf and Aquatic Park with blankets, picnic baskets and lawn chairs for optimum firework viewing.

Entertainment will be provided by two local favorites playing extended sets at the Pier 39 Entrance Plaza stage. Take 2 performs from 1-4 p.m. followed by popular '80s cover band Tainted Love (6-9:30 p.m.) perform with the fireworks following soon afterwards. You can learn more details about the event at the official Pier 39 Web site. Parking is likely to be tight, so you might want to consider taking public transportation to the area.
