September 23rd marks the 9th annual Out-of-the-Darkness Community Walk at Lake Merced in San Francisco. This three-to-five mile walk takes place in many communities nationwide in hopes to benefit The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). AFSP conducts research and education programs to prevent suicide, save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, advocate for mental health issues, and assist survivors of suicide loss. Snacks and refreshments will be provided during and after the walk. The registration deadline is September 21st, so sign up before it’s too late! The Donation period ends December 31st, 2012.
