Refreshments will be provided. Not long ago, the peninsula was rich in natural resources. Food was abundant, with plenty for wildlife and the native peoples. This changed dramatically with the arrival of Europeans. By 1900, the grizzly, once prolific here, had been hunted to extinction. Today, grizzlies are threatened by human activities that lead to fragmentation and destruction of their habitat. The exhibition has text panels for adults and young readers, gallery guides with age-appropriate activities for families and school groups, and many touchable things for all visitors.
