Chris will discuss the proper selection, planting, and early training of fruit trees; proper pruning and structuring of existing fruit trees in your garden; as well as the key differences in fruiting characteristics (and pruning needs) between species. Particular attention will be given to the special pruning and maintenance of 'espaliered' apple and pear specimens. The class will be part classroom lecture and part field demonstration (weather permitting).
