Defined as the only thing truely holding a climber to the rock, the anchor is perhaps the most valuable tool a climber can learn. This workshop will be held at Castle Rock State Park and cover material and techniques that are invaluable for beginning through advanced climbers. We will introduce you to the subtleties of well placed protection. Concepts of opposition, direction of pull, multi-point anchor systems and equalization techniques will be discussed, demonstrated, and practiced. Our goal is to leave you with an easy formula for and the ability to set up safe and functional anchors. Instructor: Nicky Bunn has been teaching rock climbing and leading outdoor adventure outings with the Rec. Dept. for the past several years.
