 Prevent homelessness in our community!Volunteer for San Mateo County's Homeless Count! WHAT: Every two years, San Mateo County conducts a homeless count, a tract-by-tract census of homeless individuals and families. With help from hundreds of volunteers, we walk and drive through every census tract, taking note of the number of homeless individuals and families we see.WHY: The results from the census help nonprofits and public agencies better understand and prevent homelessness.WHEN: The count takes place January 24, 6 - 10 amWHO: Volunteers can be individuals, groups, people over the age of 18.
