She learned how to channel her hyperactivity (which back then only carried the diagnosis of "annoying") into a spot-on impression of Smeagol from The Hobbit album. She found out this quickly made her the scariest/funniest tomboy dork in the third grade and the laughter led her to a comedy career. At seventeen, Liz made her stage debut at Tommy T's in San Leandro with comedian Tom Rhodes. She bombed so hard that her next career move was waiting tables at Tommy T's in San Ramon, where she watched and learned from national headliners. Then one night, because of her reputation as being the funniest waitress there, she was asked to MC a show as a last minute replacement. The manager, Rick Fields, urged her to pursue comedy and soon after she won a comedy contest where a hundred and forty people came to cheer her on.After realizing that comedy could at times be more painful than carpal tunnel, she took some time off to pursue a career as a professional massage therapist. She eventually became very successful and opened a massage therapy center which wound up being fodder for more comedy bits and impersonations of clients. After seventeen years as a massage therapist she's given over 11,000 massages and has seen (and smelled) it all. Much of her comedy still involves this part of her life. For three years she was a tour guide in San Francisco's North Beach conducting a tour she co-wrote called Where's The F'ing Beach in North Beach? Before the dot bomb, she was a writer for George Carlin's Laugh.com. Liz writes her own material (in fact she wrote this thing you're reading right now in the third person to sound like she paid someone to do it for her) and often assists fellow comedians in enhancing their own material and performances. After years of channeling her energies both on stage and in a dark massage room (which disciplined her mind like Kane from Kung Fu), Liz recently revealed her comedic hilariousness in her one woman stand up comedy show Deja Wince: Lessons From A Failed Relationship Expert which ran for twenty three weeks in San Francisco. This show also features Kate Willett and Danny Allen and is hosted by Wes Hofmann. $10 in advance $12 at the door
