Date:02/16 Saturday Maker Workshops: 10am-11am or 11am-12pm Meet-the-Makers: 12pm-1pm Young Makers Plussing Session: 2pm-3pm A collaboration between The Tech Museum of Innovation, Make Magazine, and Pixar Animation Studios, Open Make is a monthly program highlighting the tools, techniques, and ingenuity of local Makers. This month features flight.In the Maker Workshops, join Rick Schertle for all sorts of flying fun as you build and fly some very innovative glider contraptions based on his ingenious designs.Meet-the-Makers as they talk about their passions for making, followed by a question and answer session. The talks will bring together a Maker who works with kids in flight, a Young Maker doing something innovative with flight, and a professional Maker from the flight industry.In the Young Maker Plussing Session, Young Makers get together monthly to share their innovations for Maker Faire. Plussing Sessions allow project teams to get feedback on their in-progress projects from other participants. They also provide teams practice talking about their projects, the challenges they are facing, and how they intend to overcome them. Even if you don't have your project started yet, students ages 12-18 and their parents can meet other Makers and learn more about becoming Young Makers of the South Bay.All Open Make events are held inside the innovative, new space for making and learning, The Tech Studio. Registration for Maker Workshops is free, but requires a paid admission to The Tech.* *Young Makers registered for Plussing Sessions get free museum admission. Museum Admission: $10-$15
