Date:06/07 Friday 8pm Concert 7:30pm Pre-concert lecture
This program will tour American music from Colonial days to the present. The first half will feature works by the nation's leading composers from the 18th to the 21st centuries working in the "classical" tradition. After intermission, the Bay Choral Guild will let their hair down and perform hits from a wide variety of American popular genres, including Broadway musicals, barbershop, jazz, spirituals, and more. This show will be a lot of fun as the chorus, with piano accompaniment, spotlights the best music from America's cultural history. Come hear the music of Billings, Barber, Bernstein, and much more!
