Have you ever turned to writing during periods of stress, sickness, or upheaval? You may have discovered what writers have known for decades:
writing helps us navigate through difficult life events. And it’s good for us. Researchers tell us that whether we write about positive or negative
personal experiences, writing can be good for our health. In this experiential workshop, we will cover the historical background of writing for
healing, key research highlights, and then we will write together to explore the benefits that come from writing using the material of our lives. If
you don’t tell your story, who will?
Instructor: Sharon Bray, EdD, Dr. Bray is the author of two books on the healing power of writing and leads the ongoing writing series at the Stanford
Cancer Center as well as “The Writer’s Workshop at Stanford Medical School.”
