But in our frenetic culture, people have less time for others; social discourse is on the decline with rudeness and anger increasing; cut-throat competition has undermined the vital skills of conversation and community building. In this workshop, we’ll learn the elements of good conversation as well as how to build more community in our lives. As we build social capital, we not only improve our own lives. but we build concern for the common good and create a more collaborative, caring culture.Instructor: Cecile Andrews, EdD. Author of the books Slow is Beautiful, Circle of Simplicity, and Less is More. Her forthcoming book is called Living Room Revolution: A Handbook for Conversation, Community, and the Common Good. Cecile has a doctorate in education from Stanford.
