Father of Nerds at The Hub "I just wanted to say that I'm a Nerd, and I'm here tonight to stand up for the rights of other Nerds." We all know the movie. The Nerds, the Jocks, and of course, the altruistic ending speech…”I'm a Nerd.” On Friday, February 15, we will be screening Revenge of the Nerds, the classic 80’s film about inclusion, because we're really all Nerds. And, as a special treat, we will have Peter Samuelson, producer of the film as well as many others, with us to discuss his current project, The Media Institute for Social Change (MISC), an institute at USC focused exclusively on promoting the use of media for positive social change. Peter is also the founder of www.starlight.org, www.starbrightworld.org with Steven Spielberg and www.firststar.org, which puts Foster youth into high schools on university campuses, to get them ready for college. The wine down will happen alongside the event and will be sponsored by our very own Beyond 12. Beyond 12 is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the number of low-income, first generation and historically underrepresented students who graduate from our nation's colleges and universities.
