Liz Grant, who grew up a poor white hippie child in the Bay Area, wanted to be more than just another tomboy dork in the third grade. She learned how to channel her hyperactivity (which back then only carried the diagnosis of "annoying") into a spot-on impression of Smeagol from The Hobbit album. She found out this quickly made her the scariest/funniest tomboy dork in the third grade and the laughter led her to a comedy career.
At seventeen, Liz made her stage debut at Tommy T"s in San Leandro, California with comedian Tom Rhodes. She bombed so hard that her next career move was waiting tables at Tommy T"s in San Ramon, where she watched and learned from national headliners. Then one night, because of her reputation as being the funniest waitress there, she was asked to MC a show as a last minute replacement.
