This class by James Kern will introduce you to plant propagation and include propagation of Native California plants. The methods shown will include seed handling, cuttings, and division. Learn how to propagate groundcovers such as Redwood Sorrel or Wild Ginger and how to take cuttings of some of our native perennials. Most plants in your garden can be easily propagated once you know how and when to take cuttings from them. Propagating plants you enjoy will allow you to add to your landscape and to offer plants to your friends and neighbors. You will also gain a better appreciation of how plants grow as you improve your gardening skills. James Kern has a background in botany and is a well-known Master Gardener, horticultural consultant, and landscape contractor. He is also a lecturer and teaches part-time at Foothill College and is a member of the California Rare Fruit Growers Association.
