VENUE: Historic Villa HALO BETWEEN, a project of LAP Fellow Rick Maciel and his collaborator Liliana Castañon Torres, will perform at Montalvo in conjunction with the current Project Space Gallery exhibition Happiness is… In HALO BETWEEN, Maciel is an inventor & transformer of Sonic Toys, second hand gadgets. Toys come to life when they are operated on -- in this surgery wires are grafted to the center of the toys’ textile or plastic structure, transforming them into active creatures.The project has developed a “universal language.” Singing is a primitive quality of human beings.
