OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - The explosion of social media has introduced many things into today’s world. And one of them is national days that no one knew existed before they appeared on your feed with a hashtag.
Feb. 3 is one of those days. It’s been dubbed “International Golden Retriever Day.” How exactly the day was decided is not confirmed.
But the story goes it began with a golden retriever blogger in 2012, according to Kristen, creator of the iheartgoldenretriever.com blog.
Kristen says she was watching the news and they were talking about national “Eat Cherry Pie Day,” which is coming up on Feb. 20, when she wondered if there was a national day to recognized golden retrievers.
There wasn’t. And with the help of social media, there is. It’s today. Enjoy!
