KANSAS CITY (KTVU) - Some of the "tiniest gifts of Christmas" are being celebrated at a Kansas City hospital.
Since the holidays can be extremely emotional for families in the NICU, March of Dimes along with nurses spread some Christmas cheer - and of course Santa was on hand to help!
"Providing these special families with an opportunity to celebrate the holidays in a memorable way allows them a sense of normalcy, and an opportunity to celebrate their babies’ first milestones – even in the hospital – which is what every family wants to do," said Jennifer Robinson with March of Dimes.
Each NICU family was given a package that contained a keepsake "Twas the Night Before Christmas" card with their baby's footprint drawn into a mouse, a crocheted Santa bag with candy, a crocheted Santa hat or girl's cap with a bow, and a keepsake holiday book.
There were also specific gifts made for families who celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
