Skydiver Loses Prosthetic Leg

Man Takes To Skies Again With Replacement

Posted: 6:55 am PDT August 25, 2008

A skydiver who lost his prosthetic leg in the air isn't letting the mishap get him down.

Scott Listemann made a jump with his replacement leg two days after it arrived.

The new, $12,000 leg made it through the plunge without incident.

The 47-year-old skydiver wore a special jumpsuit and a foot harness as a precaution. He said the jump was "absolutely wonderful."

Listemann was unsure why his previous prosthesis flew off during a jump in June.

After trying unsuccessfully to find it, Listemann got around on crutches until the replacement arrived last week.

He lost his left leg below the knee when a truck hit him in November.
