Teixeira Leaves Twinbill Opener With Back Spasms

POSTED: 3:24 pm PDT May 12, 2008

(Sports Network) - Atlanta Braves first baseman Mark Teixeira left the opener of Monday's doubleheader against Pittsburgh with back spasms.

Teixeira was already 0-for-2 when he did not take the field for the bottom of the fourth inning during a cold, damp day in Pittsburgh and he failed to appear in the second contest.

Greg Norton took his place at first base.
