OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - A major fitness club says it's cooperating with police, after a reported robbery at its Oakland gym last weekend.
The response comes after a reported incident on Saturday, in which a club member told KTVU, that two men walked into the men's locker room, and held up everyone inside, demanding wallets, keys and money.
In a statement to KTVU, 24 Hour Fitness said, "We are aware of a report filed with local law enforcement regarding a theft from a locker at our Oakland club location, 3950 Alameda Ave. We will fully cooperate with any investigation. Our members' safety is our first priority and we encourage members who observe any suspicious activity to report it to our club staff."
The manager said the club was cooperating with police.
Oakland police tell KTVU "there was no hold up. Locker break in only."
Additional details have not been released.
