BAY AREA (KTVU) - Fremont Flowers and Bay Area Wholesale opened its doors to elementary school students from across the Bay Area on Tuesday.
Students picked up a free flower and vase to make tomorrow's first day of school extra special for their teachers.
There was a line of students and their parents to get daisies for their teachers.
The shop has been doing this give away for the past 10 years.
One of the shop owners said his mom Shirley, 89, is a retired school teacher for the Fremont Unified School District. "I always saw how hard she worked leading up to the first day of school. Therefore, teachers became my heroes. They work hard- what a role model they are for our children. So this is just our way of honoring children and going back to school and their teachers," he said.
The shop was giving out 1,200 flowers and vases today.
