Coca Cola Bourbon Glaze

Yield: Enough glaze for one Ham

2 12-oz CANS COLA
2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
3 OZ BOURBON

PLACE ALL INGREDIENTS IN A SAUCE PAN, BRING TO A BOIL STIRRING TO DISSOLVE SUGAR. REDUCE HEAT TO LOW AND SIMMER UNTIL REDUCED BY ABOUT HALF.

YIELDS ABOUT 1 PINT.


FOR THE HAM

1 FULLY COOKED SMOKED BONE-IN HAM
1 PINT BOURBON COCA COLA GLAZE

HEAT OVEN TO 325. SPRAY A SHALLOW ROASTING PAN WITH COOKING SPRAY. PLACE HAM, FAT SIDE UP IN PAN AND BAKE HAM FOR 1 HOUR.

REMOVE HAM FROM OVEN AND GLAZE WITH ½ BOURBON COCA COLA GLAZE.  BAKE FOR 30 MINUTES. BRUSH WITH REMAINING GLAZE. BAKE FOR AN ADDITIONAL 40-50 MINUTES UNTIL A MEAT THERMOMETER READS 140 DEGREES.

ALLOW MEAT TO REST FOR 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE CARVING.
