OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Health and Wellness Coach Darby Jackson stopped by KTVU the 9 this morning for ways to keep cravings at Bay.
Jackson talked about bone broth saying that the bones cook longer in the water - so they start to disintegrate.
That means bone broth is packed with magnesium. Jackson says, "Magnesium is great because it helps reduce anxiety - and when you reduce anxiety you reduce cortisol levels and you naturally don't have those crazy hunger feelings."
To make bone broth you can ask a butcher for leftover chicken bones, put them into a slow cooker, cover with water, cook for about 10 hours and then put it on repeat to keep cooking. Jackson lets hers cook for three or four days. Then you strain the broth."
Jackson says warm water with lemon is a great way to start your morning - saying it's a great way to balance your PH.
Another way to stay healthy is to cook with coconut oil. She says it helps speed metabolism and gives you energy. It's important to look for an unsweetened version.
