Report: Pacers Send Rush, Jack To Portland For Bayless, Diogu

POSTED: 7:50 pm PDT June 26, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Rush brothers will apparently be playing together in Indiana next season if a proposed trade between the Pacers and the Trail Blazers goes through.

ESPN reported Thursday night that the Pacers have agreed to deal Arizona guard Jerryd Bayless, whom they selected with the 11th pick, and forward Ike Diogu to Portland for Kansas small forward Brandon Rush, who the Blazers picked 13th, and guard Jarret Jack. The Blazers also sent forward Josh McRoberts to the Pacers.

In Indiana Rush, who led the Jayhawks in scoring in all three of his seasons, will join his brother, guard Kareem, who averaged 8.3 points per game for the Pacers last season.

Bayless averaged 19.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in his only season at Arizona, and became the top-scoring freshman in program history with his 592 points. He will join a Blazers team that hopes to debut last year's No. 1 overall pick, center Greg Oden, as well this season. Oden sat out last season after knee surgery.

Diogu averaged 5.6 points and 10.2 minutes per game last season, his third in the league. Jack scored 9.9 points in 27.2 minutes per game for the Blazers last season, also his third in the league.

McRoberts appeared in only eight games for Portland last season, logging most of his time in the NBA's Development League. The Blazer selected him in the second round, 37th overall, out of Duke in the 2007 draft.
