Wizards' Songaila Suspended For Game 6

(Sports Network) - The NBA suspended Washington Wizards forward Darius Songaila one game for striking Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James in the face with his hand.

Songaila served the suspension Friday when the Wizards lost at home to Cleveland in Game 6 of their first round Eastern Conference series. The Wizards were eliminated from postseason play.

The incident occurred in the first quarter of Washington's 88-87 Game 5 victory in Cleveland.

Songaila was averaging 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds off the bench in this first round series, shooting 42.1 percent from the floor.

The 6-9, 248-pound Wake Forest product averaged 19.4 minutes in 80 games, starting 13, during the regular season. He shot 45.8 percent from the floor and averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
