Slideshow: 1994 -- Year Of The Dog
Mother Nature smiled on the Year of the Dog with clear skies as some 300,000 people lined the streets of downtown San Francisco to greet Miss Chinatown Gwendoline Yeo and the 1994 Chinese New Year Parade. It was a year in which the San Francisco 49ers would be crowned Super Bowl champions and local hearts and pocketbooks would open up to help the victims of the devastating Northridge Earthquake. Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific unveiled its "brushwing" Airbus 330-300 aircraft.
