113 guns received at SFPD gun buyback event

113 guns were bought back at a gun buyback event hosted by the San Francisco Police.

Police offered $100 for handguns and $200 for assault-style weapons.

Interim Police Chief Tony Chaplin says the guns were turned in with no questions asked.

He added, "The importance is to get guns out of the residence of people who really don't need them anymore, because often times the residences are burglarized and the guns fall into the wrong hands. This is a great way to get a little something for the guns and get them out of your house at the same time."
