San Bruno Music Teacher Faces Sex Charges

A San Bruno high school music teacher arrested on suspicion of having sex with a female student will be charged with multiple felonies Monday afternoon in San Mateo County Superior Court, Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe announced.

The district attorney's office has decided to file 16 felony counts of oral copulation with a minor, and 16 felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse against Capuchino High School band teacher Adam Albrecht, 28, who was arrested without incident Thursday night at his Broadmoor home.

Additional charges of witness dissuasion, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana will also be filed against Albrecht at his 2 p.m. arraignment this afternoon in Redwood City, Wagstaffe said.

According to Broadmoor police Lt. Dave Parenti, the alleged crimes between Albrecht and the 17-year-old student took place primarily at Albrecht's home, between January and April of this year. Police were notified after one of the girl's parents told the superintendent, Parenti said.

The contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge is believed to be for providing alcohol, according to Parenti.

Police have not received any similar reports regarding Albrecht and any other students, Parenti said.

Albrecht, who has taught at the school for about three years and has no prior criminal record, according to Parenti, is being held on $500,000 bail in San Mateo County Jail.
