SOMA Loses Power; No Estimate Of When It Will Be Restored

Posted: 4:51 pm PST November 10, 2007

Over 2,000 customers were affected by a power outage in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood today, according to Pacific Gas & Electric Co. officials.

At 12:02 p.m., 2,105 customers lost power, said PG&E spokeswoman Susan Simon. By 2:30 p.m., all but 1,100 customers had power restored.

Approximately 600 customers are still without power, said Simon, and there is no estimated time of when power might be restored.

The cause of the outage is not known but is being investigated, Simon said.
