Girl Missing From Tenderloin District

SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a 10-year-old girl who went missing from the Tenderloin District Saturday morning. Police spokesman Steve Mannina said Mireya Zapata was first reported missing from the 400 block of Turk Street around 10:30 a.m. She was last seen wearing a black jacket with "South Pole" written on the back, black jeans, red and black shoes and was carrying a pink backpack. Mireya is a Hispanic female with black eyes and brown hair, Mannina said. She is about 5 feet tall, weighing 75 pounds. Anyone with information on the location of the missing girl should call police operations at (415) 553-1071.
