SAN FRANCISCO -- Two San Francisco police officers were released from a local hospital Saturday following an early morning car accident that is still under investigation, police said. The officers who were on patrol suffered minor injuries after crashing into what was possibly a storefront at Geneva Avenue and Vienna Street in the Excelsior neighborhood around 3:40 a.m., according to officials. Officer Baglin said the officers were in good condition when they left San Francisco General Hospital. Baglin said he wasn't sure what caused the crash but that hit-and-run investigators were also handling the case. The car heavily damaged the front of the deli, leaving groceries and broken liquor bottles scattered all over the inside of the building. The store front was so heavily damaged it was doubtful the business would be able to reopen for several days.
