SAN FRANCISCO -- A 30-year-old hotel worker was booked into jail on charges of burglary and sexual battery after allegedly sexually assaulting a hotel guest early Sunday morning, a San Francisco police spokesman said. Officers responded to the Clift Hotel, 495 Geary St., after a 39-year-old woman reported the alleged assault around 5 a.m. The suspect, identified as Christian Rojas of Daly City, allegedly entered the victim's room using a key card, sexually assaulted her and left, said San Francisco police spokesman Neville Gittens. Police worked with hotel staff to determine the identity of the suspect, Gittens said. Officials determined that the key used to enter the room was assigned to Rojas, who works in the hotel's housekeeping department, according to Gittens. Rojas was placed under arrest in the lobby of the hotel before being booked into jail on charges of burglary and sexual battery, according to Gittens. "We are cooperating with the police investigation," Clift Hotel spokeswoman Elizabeth Grillos said. "Other than that we don't have a comment."
