Sonoma County Officials Release More Information In Beach Killing

SANTA ROSA -- Sonoma County investigators are releasing more information about a fatal shooting in a beach parking lot over the weekend. Authorities say the man who was found shot to death was a member of family that had been under the protection of law enforcement because of his brother's testimony in a gang-related kidnapping case. Twenty-four-year-old Vutha Au of Santa Rosa was found dead early Sunday in the parking lot of Blind Beach, a secluded beach just south of Jenner. Investigators say Au's brother -- 22-year-old Terry Au -- had testified last fall against two brothers of a suspect in Vutha Au's killing. Investigators say the kidnapping defendants and the four suspects arrested in connection with Sunday's fatal shooting are members of a gang.
