RICHMOND, Calif. -- Two women have been arrested after they allegedly used counterfeit $100 bills at a clothing store in Corte Madera and then crashed their car in Richmond while attempting to evade police. Security officers at The Village at Corte Madera followed Germain Monique Davis from the Janie and Jack store shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday after the woman reportedly used fake $100 bills there. Davis was then seen getting picked up by another woman, Elizabeth Riascos, in a red Chevrolet sedan, according to officials. Police later spotted that vehicle traveling eastbound on East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and attempted to stop the car. The car failed to yield and was pursued across the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge until the car crashed at the Harbour Way exit from Interstate Highway 580 in Richmond, according to officials. Davis and Riascos did not sustain any injuries and were taken into custody without further incident. Two children in the car at the time of the crash were also uninjured, according to officials. Police also said they found evidence in Davis and Riascos' possession that allegedly linked them to recent similar crimes in the East Bay.
