LOS GATOS, Calif. -- A woman whose bones were recently found by a creek in Los Gatos Mountains was wearing a black, Coogi brand, hooded sweatshirt at the time of her death, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office revealed Friday. A transient found her remains in unincorporated Santa Clara County in a rugged, rural area near Black and Beardsley roads at about 6 p.m. on March 7 while he was collecting recyclables. Sgt. Don Morrissey said the nearby roads are mainly traveled only by residents who live along them. Medical examiners are still investigating if the skeletal remains were subject to any trauma and anthropologists will continue to investigate how long the bones were there and how old the woman was. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sgts. Herman Leon or Dean Baker at (408) 808-4500. For anonymous tips, call (408) 808-4431.
