MENLO PARK -- A Caltrain train fatally struck a pedestrian Monday morning near the Menlo Park station and both northbound and southbound trains are experiencing delays of up to two hours, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn. The accident occurred at 8:38 a.m. when southbound train No. 322 struck a pedestrian on the tracks between Encinal and Glenwood avenues, Dunn reported. There is no pedestrian crossing in the area, according to Dunn. Trains were briefly stopped in both directions as emergency personnel responded to the area, however the northbound track has reopened. Trains are single-tracking at reduced speed through the area, Dunn reported.
