Violence erupted early Saturday when gunfire rang out at an illegal sideshow on an Oakland street, leaving one person dead and two others wounded, authorities said.

According to authorities, officers responded to reports of a sideshow and a homicide in the 4200 block of Foothill Boulevard around 2 a.m.

When they arrived, they found a man fatally shot in a vehicle. Two other victims were able to transport themselves to a local hospital, police said, where they were being treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

Officers also discovered damaged vehicles several blocks away and were trying to determine if the vehicle fleeing the shooting scene may have crashed into them. No other information was immediately available.

In an apparently unrelated shooting, authorities said a man was found dead in the rear of an Oakland building.

The victim was found around 7:30 a.m. at the rear of a building in the 5900 block of Bromley Avenue, a police officer said.

He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead by responding medical personnel. No other details were available.
