SAN JOSE -- A Hispanic man died after driving 50 feet off a U.S. Highway 101 offramp in San Jose early Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol. The accident was reported at 2:24 a.m. on the southbound highway offramp to northbound Capitol Expressway, said CHP Officer Aaron Quistad. The victim had to be extricated from the vehicle, Quistad said. Quistad said he didn't know what caused the driver to veer off the highway and it was unknown if alcohol was involved.
