ANTIOCH -- A 1-year-old girl has died at the hospital after being pulled from a swimming pool at her Antioch home, authorities said.

Contra Costa County coroner's office identified the youngster as 1-year-old Angelia Hodge. She would have turned 2 years old this month.

An autopsy conducted on her body Monday morning confirmed that she died from drowning, and Antioch police were calling her death a tragic accident.

Police were called to the child's house at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday, but were not releasing details about how the incident occurred or the location of the home.

Angelia was transported to Sutter Delta Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
