Newsom Offers Reward For Info On Terrell Rogers' Murder

POSTED: 10:59 pm PDT May 5, 2008

Mayor Gavin Newsom Monday announced a reward for information on the killer or killers of a San Francisco man who was shot and killed outside a Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High School basketball game in January.

Terrell Rogers was shot Jan. 12 in the parking lot across the street from the school located at 1055 Ellis St. after being approached by two suspects just before 8 p.m.

Newsom's office is offering $250,000 for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the suspects.

"The violence plaguing our streets will not stop without the help of every resident of San Francisco," Newsom said in a prepared statement. "This reward is one tool we can use to urge anyone with information to come forward and cooperate with law enforcement. Our neighborhoods deserve the justice that can only come with solving this tragic crime."

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Inspector Antonio Casillas at (415) 553-1145 or the police confidential tip line at (415) 575-4444.
