At 9:39 p.m., an armed suspect confronted a man outside of the store at Sacramento and Oregon streets. The man reportedly ran inside, when another suspect and the man's little brother also ran into the store, according to the Police Department. The 16-year-old brother was shot repeatedly by one or both of the suspects during a struggle among them and is suffering from serious injuries, said police. One suspect was described as a black man in his mid- to late-20s, about 6 feet tall, with a slim build. He had short, cropped hair and was wearing a black jacket, a white shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes with bluish stripes. The other suspect was described as a black man in his mid- to late-20s with a chubby face. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a dark blue jacket, blue jeans and black shoes with white trim on the bottom. Both were filmed by the liquor store's camera. Homicide detectives are asking for any help with the investigation. Anyone who may know the identity of either suspect is urged to call the Berkeley Police Department Homicide Detail at (510) 981-5741 or (510) 981-5900.
