Man Gunned Down In SF Bayview District

SAN FRANCISCO -- A man was fatally shot Tuesday morning in San Francisco's Bayview District, a police sergeant said. Officers responded to the unit block of Cameron Way at 8:48 a.m. on reports of shots fired, according to Sgt. Wilfred Williams. Arriving officers located a shooting victim lying on the ground and paramedics transported him to San Francisco General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Williams said. Homicide detectives are in the area investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made and no suspect description was immediately available. The shooting marks the 43rd homicide in the city this year.
