Dennis Richmond's Benefit To Fight Child Abuse

Posted: 4:58 pm PDT June 25, 2008Updated: 8:46 am PDT July 8, 2008

Hosted by former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, a gala evening of memories and outstanding dining is planned for July 19th to honor the career of Bay Area broadcasting icon and KTVU anchor Dennis Richmond to benefit the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center.

The center has been near and dear to Richmond’s heart for several years.

“The most difficult stories I’ve covered in my 40-year career are the ones that involved something bad happening to a child,” the recently retired KTVU mainstay said. “I am fortunate that I grew up in a home where I didn’t see or experience abuse. As adults, we get to choose our friends and associates. Children don’t get to choose their parents.”

“The Child Abuse Protection Center of San Francisco has done a tremendous job defending and protecting children. I urge you to support them.”

Tickets for the event are priced at $250 for an individual or $2,500 for a table for 10.

To make reservations for the event call Denise Cohn at 510-874-0224 or email her at denise.cohn@ktvu.com
