A Night Of Violence In Oakland Ends With One Dead

A 50-year-old woman was fatally shot in Oakland Saturday morning, making it a total of eight people shot in the city overnight.

Police found the unidentified woman on a sidewalk just before 4 a.m. this morning on the 2200 block of 90th avenue at Dowling street. She died a half hour later at highland hospital, becoming the 90th homicide in the city this year.

Police have no suspects or motive in the case.

Four other shootings in Oakland happened Friday night, resulting in seven people being hospitalized.

At 2 a.m., two men were wounded in separate shootings on International blvd and a woman was shot in an attempted carjacking on Foothill blvd.

Two hours later, a 72-year-old man, a juvenile and two adults were shot at 50th and Foothill boulevard. Witnesses say they may have been shot by people taking part in a sideshow in their neighborhood.

Police haven't determined if the shootings are related.

None of the victim's injuries are considered life-threatening.
