VALLEJO -- Vallejo police arrested a parolee after a four-hour standoff involving a SWAT team on Kentucky Street Thursday morning. Lt. Rick Nichelman said registered sex offender Darelle White, 27, tried to rob a couple at gunpoint in the Kentucky Street area around 7 a.m. The male victim chased White, who fled to his aunt's house at 241 Kentucky St., Nichelman said. Police negotiated with White until his cell phone died around 10:30 a.m., Nichelman said. During the standoff, White fired six rounds from a .357 revolver inside the house, Nichelman said. Police eventually fired gas inside the home then entered to find that White had barricaded himself inside a bathroom. White struggled and was shot with a Taser gun before he was finally taken into custody around 11:30 a.m., Nichelman said. He was then taken to a hospital and will be interviewed by police, Nichelman said.
